Common Area Change Request

Please fill out and submit this form to the Landscape Maintenance Committee if you would like to make changes to the common area near your home, such as adding or removing native plants, bushes, or trees.

This rule is referenced in the CC&Rs (#18): “A homeowner who wishes to make changes in the landscaping in the common area, including the addition, destruction, removal, or severe pruning of bushes, trees, or vines will make application to the Landscape Maintenance Committee for permission to take such action.”

This does not mean that you can’t do everyday weeding, picking up fallen branches, or pruning decorative shrubs on common property adjoining your private property.

The Landscape Maintenance Committee will review your request to ensure that:
  • The height and width of plantings will not block views for safe traffic and scenic views of your neighbors.
  • The roots will not interfere with nearby pavement or walls over time.
  • Your neighbors are informed.
Your request will be approved, denied, or returned for more information. You can start your project when you have received a signed approval from the Landscape Maintenance Committee.

If approval is granted to plant or remove plants, bushes, or trees it is your responsibility to call 811 to find a location that is free of buried utilities.
